Jessica Jackson is an artist, graphic designer, and educator whose work bridges the classical and the contemporary, blending traditional fine art with modern design.
Her career led her to AECOM, a global engineering and architecture firm, where she served as an Art Director in both Baltimore and Toronto. During her time in Canada, she contributed to the York Region Rapid Transit project, creating visual communications for one of Ontario’s largest public infrastructure initiatives.
Seeking to deepen her artistic practice, Jessica earned her Master of Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. While at SVA, she had the privilege of studying with renowned designers and illustrators including Steven Heller, Maira Kalman, and the late Milton Glaser. She also worked with PAPER Magazine, assisting with editorial design and fashion photo shoots, further expanding her experience in publishing and creative direction.
Jessica later served as Art Director at Division Creative Group on New York City’s Lower East Side, where she developed branding and visual identity projects for internationally recognized clients including Rolex, Citizen, Cartier, David Yurman, Noritake, and Columbia University.
After relocating to Edmonton, Alberta, she served on the board of the Graphic Designers of Canada (Alberta North Chapter), supporting the regional design community. Family life eventually brought her back to Baltimore, where she focused on raising her children while continuing to freelance, pursue postgraduate studies, and refine her artistic practice.
Today, Jessica has returned to her first passion—drawing and painting—and is dedicated to sharing that passion with the next generation of artists. She believes that creativity flourishes through curiosity, patience, and consistent practice, and she strives to create an encouraging, engaging classroom where young artists can build confidence, develop strong technical skills, and discover their own creative voice.
A lifelong learner, Jessica continues her own artistic studies at Zoll Studio under the guidance of Matt Zoll and Palden Hamilton, believing that the best teachers are always students themselves.
